Another easy Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer!
Summertime is all about backpacking and hiking for me, so Mr. Chickadee and I are always looking for a good hike in the Adirondacks. Summer officially started with a 50-mile backpacking trip from which we have just returned.
This photo was selected from the week’s images and is one of my favorites. The location is a place we’ve visited before and to which we were happy to return. Big thanks are due to Mr. Chickadee for going along with my grand backpacking plans!

glad that you tow are having an adventerous trip!
Going backpacking in the wilderness is one of those things where it’s a lot of misery – bugs and mud – but at the same time, so relaxing!
You are so talented! I mean, aside from writing well… It’s good to see this side of you.
Aw, shucks.

Great silhouette picture. I love silhouette picture.
I don’t do them very often – they are easily overdone, but occasionally a good silhouette shot gives just the right effect.
Love this photo – looks calm and peaceful.
Calm and peaceful, indeed – except for the mosquitoes, blackflies, and other biting insects…
Looks like it was a beautiful trek!
Absolutely! No breathtaking sunsets or anything of that nature, but many beautiful wildflowers, interesting views, and lots of bird songs and frog calls.
A very moving piece. So peaceful with a mixture of adventure and all the wonderful events of Summer.
Definitely an adventure, but also relaxing – couldn’t ask for anything more!
i love the soft-water-alongside-hard-rock thing that happens in this shot.Really speaks about summer.cheers!
